Orokan Estate

Orokan Estate

The Orokan Estate was constructed in 1933 for the mayor of Odate, Sakuraba Bunzo (1883-1971).

The two-story building features Japanese and western-style rooms, a lookout on the roof, and other unique features. Built primarily with high-quality local cedar, a detached study and other details show off excellent craftsmanship. It is one of the few buildings that has survived numerous fires that swept through the city.
