Shibayachi Wetland Plant Communities (Designated Natural Monument of Japan)
Wetlands such as the Shibayachi Wetland were once very common in the area. However, due to the expansion of agriculture and urbanization, Shibayachi is the only wetland remaining completely unchanged by human intervention. The wetland is unique for the number or rare species present including many carnivorous plants. The wetlands is a great place to see many varieties of dragonflies, birds, and small mammals.
