Yamada Shishi-Odori Dance (Folk Entertainment)
The first recorded performance of the Yamada Shishi-Odori took place during the enthronement of Lord Satake at Odate Castle in 1602. The dance has been carried down through the generations until WWII. The dance was revived in 1947 and has been performed every year during the Obon festival on August, 13th.
